A holiday union poem

‘Twas the night before vacation
and all through the meetings
We were oddly efficient
With both good-byes and our greetings.

The collective agreements were stacked
by our keyboards with care
In hopes that Bargaining 2022
Still would be fair.

And as I logged off the zoom
And then shut off my (ring) light
I yelled “Happy solidarity* to all!
“We workers always unite.”

*Credit for the phrase “Happy Solidarity” goes to Sam Montgomery who finally found a neutral holiday cheer for union activists!
